The RN-to-BSN program represents a milestone in the registered nurse’s career. Students are expected to gain skills and knowledge to help them provide quality patient care and become leaders. Understanding Health Promotion and Community Health
The student will gain an understanding of community health and health promotion as they progress through the program. Health promotion does not only involve the prevention of disease, but it also includes the enhancement of wellbeing. Student also understands community health as well as the nursing role in improving the health of community members. Student begins to understand the importance of advocacy, collaboration and cultural competency in reaching the health promotion goals and community health.
Module 3: Developing Leadership Skills
Nursing is a profession that requires a lot of leadership. This program will equip students with all the skills they need to be effective leaders. Student learns about different leadership theories and styles as well how to implement them in different situations. In addition, the student will learn about leadership’s importance in communication, delegation, conflict resolution, and delegation. Students begin to see the value of leadership as it relates to improving outcomes for patients, creating a positive working environment and encouraging teamwork.
Module 4: Embracing Technology
In today’s healthcare environment, technology plays a crucial role in providing safe and effective patient care. Students are exposed to various technologies in healthcare and taught how to effectively use them. Student learns about the role of electronic medical records, telehealth technology, and emerging technologies to improve patient outcomes. Students also study the legal and ethical implications of using technology in health care.
