Null Hypothesis: There is no difference in students’ heights based upon gender and marital status, nor any interaction between gender and marital status.
This research question seeks to determine if there is any difference in heights between college students, when factors like gender and marital status are taken into consideration. This study aims to determine if gender and marital status have an impact on height. The study will also examine if the two variables combined have an effect that is more significant than one variable alone on student height.
By testing the null hypothesis it can be determined if there is indeed a significant difference in student height when both individual factors (gender & marital status) are taken into consideration as well as their potential interactions. Collecting relevant data which measures each individual’s height along with their respective characteristics will allow for quantitative analysis to be conducted which will determine the validity of this hypothesis.
