Personally, I am not in favor of physician-assisted suicide as I believe it goes against my moral code to take someone else’s life, no matter the circumstances. I also believe in the freedom of every person to live life as they choose. No one should be forced or expected to do anything that goes against this.
It is possible that if I am ever diagnosed as having a terminal disease and know that it will affect my life negatively, then I can ask my doctor for his help in ending my pain. Even in such desperate circumstances, I would only seriously consider this option after exhausting all of my other options.
In conclusion then, although physician-assisted suicide might appear like an easy solution for those facing unbearable pain/suffering – ultimately only individual can truly determine whether or not this type situation is one which they are willing go through so utmost respect must given when examining these types decisions.
