In my practicum, I’ve encountered many challenges and opportunities that were unexpected. A challenge was navigating the complicated web of regulations when it came to dealing with specific patients or medical procedures. It was important to me that I developed strong research skills to enable me to locate information efficiently and apply it to my work. Delays in technology or unexpected events forced me to quickly adapt to the situation.
I have become much more agile and flexible in dealing with changes, which is invaluable to me for my future role. In addition, by having to find solutions in difficult circumstances, I’ve developed problem-solving abilities which will benefit me no matter what career I choose. These obstacles and challenges at my practicum have helped me develop both professional and personal skills, which is essential to my growth as a healthcare professional.
