It’s difficult to decide which approach is most effective for improving employee performance if you don’t have a clear context in mind. Both training and development as well as job redesign are beneficial depending on the circumstances. If an organization wants to boost the technical skills of its staff, investing in training might be a good option. However, if the goal is to increase efficiency and effectiveness within a specific process or system then job redesign may be advisable. The final decision will be based on how the resources allocated to achieve objectives are used. Both approaches, however, can encourage growth in employees.
