The impact of open migration policy on aging South Korean economy.

South Korea’s policy of open migration has had significant effects on an aging economic system. Inflow of foreign workers has alleviated some labour shortages, a long-standing problem in South Korea due to its aging population. These newcomers have also brought fresh energy and ideas that have helped to improve productivity in many different industries. Additionally, these new arrivals are willing to accept jobs in areas such as hospitality or construction that have historically been under-represented by Korean citizens.

The influx also poses certain challenges to the economy, such as increased wage costs and competition amongst workers for the available jobs. Cultural differences may also lead to miscommunications, which can have serious consequences for both locals and immigrants if they are not resolved.
