My colleagues’ postings have highlighted the importance of utilizing different theoretical frameworks such as person-centered care, Jean Watson’s Theory of Human Caring, and behaviorist psychology when providing quality care to patients. It has given me the understanding that every patient is different and requires an individual approach to meet their needs. Validation lies in the fact that by taking into account various aspects of an individual’s life such as family dynamics or cultural beliefs, nurses can provide more personalized care which will ultimately lead to better outcomes. Additionally, understanding how different theories can be applied helps guide clinical decision-making so that interventions are evidence based and tailored specifically towards each patient’s particular situation.
