I selected the ‘Advocacy’ section of the National Education Association (NEA) website. This section’s purpose is to give members resources and tools they can use in order to advocate on behalf of their colleagues, students and profession. Information is provided on many topics, including how to fight against local budget cuts or influence legislation at state level.

This site offers a variety of professional development programs to assist educators in understanding how policies affect them and their work. It also allows them to participate more effectively in the public debate around educational issues. There are also links to articles, videos and other items relevant to the education field that will help members stay informed about current events.

The section offers NEA members a wealth of information and resources to help them become more proactive about advocating better educational outcomes within their local communities.
