Discussion 1 and 2 of Mat 540 Week 8
Starbucks uses their employees as a way to gain a competitive edge. In order to provide staff with the tools they need for success, Starbucks has heavily invested in training. Starbucks equips its staff with skills to provide high-quality, consistent products and create exceptional customer service.
Starbucks, in addition of focusing on the excellence of its products, also places a high priority on building relationships with customers and employees by promoting open communication and direct face-toface interactions. They have developed a culture of trust through these efforts which allows them to innovate and take more risks over time.
Starbucks needs to continue its investment in the development of their employees and create policies that encourage collaboration within the company. They must also strive to keep up with trends to avoid falling behind their competitors, who might be introducing innovative ideas or products into their markets. They should also strive to create an environment where mistakes are discussed openly without any fear of punishment. This will allow them to move forward with continuous improvement efforts and maintain their leadership position over time.
