Analyse and present problems
The purpose of this assignment is to assess a problem in practice using tools for continuous improvement such as Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA), and Ishikawa cause-and-effect diagrams (fishbone). This assignment is designed to promote presentation skills and develop a deeper understanding of the issue. It is broken down into four sections. In the first part, you must identify a problem to practice in PICOT form. In the second part, the failure mode and effect analysis of the problem is performed. To analyze, reduce or minimize risks, the third component involves developing an Ishikawa Cause and Effect Diagram. Final component: create a PowerPoint presentation that includes speaker notes on each slide. This will help disseminate information gathered from previous components. The assignment allows students to achieve course objectives such as evaluating the types of healthcare systems, knowledge based systems and patient care technologies and their impact on safety of patients, quality of patient care and outcome measurement. It is 250 points, and you must use templates that are specific to FMEAs and Ishikawa Diagrams.
