Now that you’ve learned about the various facilities and clinics that support the health care industry, what did or did not surprise you? What did you learn about the facility or clinic?

It was surprising to me how many services were offered in the different facilities that provide support for the health industry. I was amazed at how diverse and vast the health care field has grown over time. The range of technology available, such as MRI and CT scans that can detect problems early before they escalate to more serious issues was surprising.

The scope of the service offered at each facility was very interesting. I also learned what kind of staff is required to run them, including doctors, nurses, lab technicians, and others who all work together in providing comprehensive patient care. The different roles they play within an organization, as well as the impact of collaboration between departments on patient care was fascinating. I also learned of other resources, such as the electronic health records. These EHRs allow faster data access while maintaining patient privacy.

The research I conducted gave me valuable insights into the operations of the medical industry, including staffing issues, technology advances and administrative considerations that are important to consider when managing a successful clinic.
