Patient-centered care, and evidence-based nursing practice are two concepts I find relevant in my work. The patient’s needs, preferences and values are at the heart of patient-centered healthcare. This model acknowledges that each individual’s experience is unique so it requires healthcare providers to take into account factors such as culture or lifestyle when delivering treatment.

EBP is essential for providing high-quality care, as it ensures that the interventions are supported by research. By using EBP, clinicians have access to the latest best practices that help them make better decisions regarding treatments and improve patient outcomes while reducing costs. Both concepts stress the importance of a better understanding of patients and guide nurses in choosing what best meets their needs.
