A higher minimum wage could also lead to a rise in employment, as employers may feel more inclined to employ people because of the increased customer demand that comes from increased buying power. Further, increasing the minimum wages helps to level the playing fields between big corporations that can pay well their employees and small business owners who struggle because of lack of capital or resources.
