If a student is unhappy about my assessment, I’ll keep communication lines open. To do this, I listen to the perspective of that person and try to figure out why it upsets them. This allows me to address any confusion or misunderstandings before I discuss the grade. Additionally, I believe it’s important to remain calm and professional throughout the discussion in order to foster a positive dialogue where both parties feel heard and respected.
If necessary, I am also willing to review any assessments or offer further guidance on how best to improve future performance. If needed, I will also review assessments and offer additional guidance to help improve performance in the future. In the end, I want to maintain full transparency and an equally fair system for all of my students.
