Another method would be introducing problem-based learning tasks which require groups of students with different backgrounds/experiences (e.g. Working together, medical and non-medical students can identify solutions to a problem or develop strategies. By doing this, it helps foster collaboration whilst providing everyone an opportunity share their knowledge & expertise thus benefiting all members in the long run.
In conclusion, incorporating the backgrounds & experiences of my students into teaching methods can help enhance their ability when it comes to thinking critically & problem solving patient-care issues as they will gain greater insight into how different types of evidence/knowledge can be used within different situations thereby making them more self-sufficient/confident whenever faced with similar challenges down the line.
