My understanding and knowledge of evidence-based research has been transformed by this course. Prior to the course I knew very little about what research was, how it could be used, or the purpose of the study. I’ve gained a deeper understanding of quantitative and qualitative research methods, including surveys, focus groups and interviews.
This allowed me to gain a better understanding of how these models are applied in real world situations for social work interventions. I was able to get a deeper understanding of how the models were used for real-world social work intervention.
The course has given me a greater understanding and knowledge of evidence-based research. It will help to give me confidence as I work with clients, or develop interventions using sound research. I am now confident when engaging other professionals in their fields who have already established literature bodies that can be used as a source of continued learning regarding the best practices for social workers.
