American Psychological Association (6th Edition) format is a widely-used citation style and formatting for academic papers. This applies particularly to the social sciences. These are the guidelines that you should follow for APA’s 6th edition:
- Title page:
- Title of paper
- Author(s) Names
- Affiliated Institution(s).
- The title of the heading is called a Running Head (short version).
- Abstract:
- The main point of your paper in a brief summary (usually 150-250 words).
- Body:
- Introduce yourself
- Book review
- Methodology

- All sources listed alphabetically
- The format of each source depends on its type (book, article in a journal, website etc.).
- In-text citations:

- Twelve-point Times New Roman Font
- Double spacing throughout
- All sides should have a 1-inch margin
- Each page is numbered in the top-right corner.
- To organize your paper, use headings and/or subheadings. (Format varies depending on the level of header)
