- Trait theory: According to this theory, personality is defined by certain traits and characteristics which are constant in different circumstances.
- The psychoanalytical theory is based on childhood experience and unconscious processes.
- Behavioral Theory: This theory emphasizes environmental factors and the learning experience in shaping personality.
- Humanistic theory: This theory focuses on the individual’s subjective experience and their innate desire for self-actualization and personal growth.
- The social-cognitive model: It emphasizes cognitive processes and the importance of personal agency, as well as social learning.
