There are five stages involved in the process of inquiry which include: formulating a question, gathering information, organizing the information, drawing conclusions and communicating the findings (Morton & Spink, 2016). First, you need to create a research- or experiment-based question. You will need to determine the key terms that are related to the subject and examine existing evidence to decide which information is needed to answer your question. The information must be compiled from various sources like published surveys and journals, then organized in a way that is easy to digest. Once this is done one can begin drawing conclusions based on the evidence collected and finally communicate their results effectively through written reports or presentations (Morton & Spink, 2016).
In general, inquiry can be a useful tool to gain new insights into topics and expand existing knowledge. These steps will help you ensure that your investigation is thorough and accurate.
