Communication was the problem. It became more difficult for us to progress with group activities because we had some members who were less engaged in the discussions. In order to overcome this problem, we set aside a dedicated weekly time for all of us to meet and discuss individual responsibilities and challenges, along with any feedback or ideas people may have on ways we can improve our processes. In addition, we discussed how important it is to be proactive when asking for help or communicating issues within the team.
This allowed for a safe environment in which everyone could voice their concerns, without feeling judged. The result was a greater level of openness between members. In turn, this allowed projects to move forward faster because crucial information was not missed by lack of communication. Additionally, it helped build trust among other members which encouraged everyone to work towards common goals together as opposed to working independently from one another – leading towards higher overall productivity as well as better collaboration within the team.
