Electric vehicles have the ability to reduce hazardous and polluting materials from our environment. Electric vehicles emit no emissions when running. This makes them environmentally-friendly compared to traditional gasoline cars. Electric cars also produce less noise than gas powered counterparts. This reduces sound pollution in urban areas. The batteries of electric vehicles have a longer life span than those in traditional cars and are recyclable when they become unusable.

Economically, electric cars can reduce overall transportation costs as electricity is cheaper than gasoline. The government also offers subsidies and tax credit to people who purchase electric cars, which lowers the ownership costs of these vehicles. Many cities also offer discounted or free charging at public stations, making it more affordable to own an electric vehicle for people who do not have garages or access to charging outlets. Lastly, because there are fewer moving parts in an EV compared to a combustion engine vehicle there’s less chance of something going wrong leading to costly repairs or maintenance expenses down the line with regular use over time.
