In my ongoing change project, this week brought me a number of new obstacles or challenges. It has been a challenge to keep everyone in the loop about timelines, expectations and other issues. For this reason, I have created a detailed timeline, and given each member of the team a specific task with corresponding deadlines. By doing so, everyone is on the same page, both in terms of expectations, as well their individual deliverables. I also set up weekly checks for our team to assess progress and make necessary adjustments.
Communication has also been an issue due to miscommunication or different interpretations due to the virtual environment of our workplace. To resolve this, we have started using some more visual tools such as online whiteboards and diagrams which allows us all to better understand what’s being discussed while supporting collaboration among team members.
Finaly, a third obstacle related to the resources was that of lack access to them due to time or financial constraints. We had to find other ways to gather information (e.g. webinars, instead of face-to-face meeting) as a consequence. It allowed us to be more productive and save money.
