Euthanasia may be acceptable depending on certain circumstances. There may be cases where actively ending someone’s life would be the most compassionate decision if their quality of life has become severely diminished due to an incurable illness or injury and they have expressed a desire not to continue living in this state. Other times, passive euthanasia may be the best option when treatment is no longer beneficial or harmful but death would not occur without it.
Let’s face it, when deciding whether to accept euthanasia under certain circumstances or not, one must consider the entire situation. That includes considering the mental/physical condition of the patients and the wishes of those individuals regarding any further medical interventions.
