Peer response!! | Nursing homework help
In my role as a leader, I must make the most of current evidence and disseminate it to all those that I am responsible for. Education and training are the first strategies that should be implemented. Nursing students can improve their knowledge and skills through educational programs based on current evidence-based techniques. By using real-world scenarios or case studies, nurses are better able to understand the application of their newly acquired knowledge. Simulations and clinical rotations are hands-on experiences that allow nurses to practice their evidence-based skills in a safe, controlled environment.
A second effective method of disseminating the best evidence available is to have an open dialogue with my staff. I can, for example, hold regular staff meetings to share updates about recent research and talk through changes to protocols in response to the updated guidelines of governing agencies such as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. In addition, an open-door policy that allows nurses to ask any questions they may have about nursing care creates a supportive team culture.
It is also possible to use technology, such as webinars or podcasts. These tools allow nurses the flexibility of choosing when and how they want to consume information. They can do this without interrupting their daily work. I’m confident by implementing these strategies that my team will be able to access the most up-todate information needed for quality patient care.
