For the sake of our society, individuals should have the power to stop the spread and transmission of diseases. In order to do this, you can take steps such as keeping your distance from others when it is possible. You could also wear a cover on your face in public or wash hands frequently. I recognize that such actions can be burdensome and inconvenient but ultimately, following these steps helps protect everyone from potential exposure or transmission of infectious diseases which is why I think it’s important for everyone to do their part in order to ensure our collective safety.
At the same time, I also acknowledge that certain societal factors like poverty or lack of access to healthcare services can limit some persons’ ability to adhere to recommended guidelines which is why governments must work towards establishing equitable public health systems as well as providing additional resources targeted at those most vulnerable communities. We can reduce the disparity in infection rates, and protect people who may be more susceptible to severe complications from COVID-19.
