- Plan for Patient Education and Compliance:
Begin by offering an apology to Alma. Tell her what to do and why. Include clear instructions for how to prepare and any restrictions on medication or diet.
Discussion of risks and benefits with Alma and answering any questions that she may ask. Give her written information on the treatment and the post-treatment medications, such as the frequency and dosage.
c) Assess Alma’s understanding of the procedure and medication instructions by asking her to repeat the information back to you in her own words.
Alma’s concerns and fears about the surgery will be addressed. Reassurance and emotional support are provided.
Collaboration with Alma in developing a management plan to deal with any pain or side-effects after the surgery. It may be necessary to modify your diet, or restrict activity.
Alma should be given clear instructions regarding any follow-up treatment and appointments that may be required.
- Collaboration is key to compliance
Include Alma in your decision-making by asking her for input.
b) Collaborate with Alma’s family members, caregivers, or other healthcare providers to ensure consistent communication and care.
c) Provide comprehensive care using a team approach, which includes medical, emotional, and social support.
Identifying any potential barriers such as transport, cultural or financial issues, then working with Alma to find solutions.
e) Monitor Alma’s progress and adjust the plan as needed, while maintaining open communication and respect for her autonomy and preferences.
