Describe  your understanding of the social work profession and its core values.  How have you incorporated social work values in your human service  experiences and interactions with others?

The profession of social work is one that aims to empower people, their families and communities through services that enhance well-being. Service, social justice and the dignity and value of each person are core values in social work. Integrity, professionalism, commitment to human relations, and competency also feature.  Social workers use these values to guide their decisions and actions as they work towards creating a better future for clients.

Through my dedication to advocating on behalf of those in desperate need, I’ve incorporated these principles into my experiences as a professional human services worker. My goal has been to always provide compassion and work towards justice, equality, and fairness. In addition to building relationships with my clients that are based on trust and respect, this is important in finding solutions for their problems.

In general, it is essential to adhere to core principles of social work in order for the best results possible. These practices can both help those who are going through hard times and mentor them, which is why it’s important to remain committed in order for everyone to receive fair treatment.
