Assignment: practicum – journal entry
During my experience in assessing and managing a patient and his family, the biggest “aha” moment I had was when I realized the patient’s disorder. This patient had a number of symptoms such as nausea, headaches, fatigue, confusion and fever. The underlying cause became clear after I completed a comprehensive physical examination, ordered diagnostic testing and performed the necessary tests. The diagnosis helped me understand all the symptoms that he was experiencing, and I could then tailor a treatment plan to suit his needs.
I took the dynamics of my family into account during this entire process. In addition, I offered them emotional support and provided reassurance to any concerns or questions they may have. This helped everyone feel at ease today. Also, I provided emotional support to everyone by reassuring them and addressing their questions or concerns.
