Using Bloom’s Taxonomy, two to three learning objectives could be as follows:
• Apply knowledge of advanced nursing theories and techniques to develop an evidence-based practice at the aggregate level.
• Analyze the impact of health care policies on health outcomes in organizations.
• Evaluate ethical considerations related to the delivery of patient care at a policy level.
• Apply knowledge of advanced nursing theories and techniques to develop an evidence-based practice at the aggregate level.
• Analyze the impact of health care policies on health outcomes in organizations.
• Evaluate ethical considerations related to the delivery of patient care at a policy level.
At the aggregate level, these objectives will expand learners’ understanding of how advanced nursing practices are used in clinical settings and how different theories can be applied in practice. The organizational level will give learners a better understanding of the impact health policies have on organizational operations. Learners will also become more aware at the policy-level of any ethical implications that may arise from decisions taken by hospitals and government agencies regarding patient care. This knowledge will help advanced nurses to better evaluate any situations they might encounter during their career.
