I believe that true health comes from the combination of mental, physical and emotional equilibrium. I believe that true health requires a holistic approach to both prevention and cure – focusing not only on treating diseases but also on strengthening our bodies and minds through exercise, healthy eating habits, self-care rituals, meaningful relationships, and positive thinking practices.
I do not think that absence of disease should be more prominent than active statements of health – as this can lead to complacency when it comes to proactively looking after ourselves. We should instead strive to achieve an overall sense of well-being by giving our bodies what they require and engaging in things that make us happy. You could do this by taking regular exercise or scheduling time to practice self-care like yoga and meditation. Positive habits like getting enough rest and spending time in nature will also help to boost our overall sense of well-being.
