In addition, the widespread availability of testing tools has allowed Covid19 to be detected much faster than during Spanish Flu when it was more difficult due to a lack of diagnostic instruments. Furthermore, interventions such as vaccines or treatments for Covid19 are currently being developed at an unprecedented rate whereas during the Spanish Flu researchers did not have access to such technologies causing recovery times and mortality rates to be higher than what we’re seeing today with Covid19.
