Nursing research question – discussion board
My proposed study will measure using both self-report questionnaires and physical assessment. The self-report surveys will ask questions related to the patient’s experience with asthma symptoms and overall quality of life. The items are scored using a Likert Scale from 1-5, with 5 representing extreme satisfaction and 1 not satisfied at all. The Likert scale allows easy comparison of individual responses and also provides an overall score that can be used for tracking changes in customer satisfaction over time.
The physical evaluation portion will include spirometry testing and peak-flow measurements. The tests provide reliable data which can be compared to established standards in order to assess if the lung function is impaired or worsened due to asthma.
They are useful tools for helping researchers understand how exercise can help those with the condition. They can provide insight into patient experiences, and are therefore an important part of developing evidence-based intervention to maximize the benefit.
