Based on the literature review, the term paper will contain the motivation for undertaking the study, emphasizing the contribution to the literature, a research proposal should be developed that states what it is the student wants to investigate and how he or she would do it.

In this paper, we explore current literature about yield-tomaturity and its role in investment decision-making. In this study, we will investigate the use of YTM as a tool to help investors evaluate various investment options, including bonds, equities and derivatives. Additionally, it will focus on the different types of yields that are considered in YTM calculations and how these yields can impact an investor’s returns over time. We will combine quantitative data analysis with interviews with industry professionals with experience in using YTM to make investment decisions. In order to complement our research, we will analyze the financial data of publicly traded companies in order to gain an understanding of their performance using YTM metrics. We will then use the results of our analysis to produce a report that details our methodology. This is to highlight how important it is to understand yield-to maturity when investing.
