Substantive posting requirements typically require you to do more than just give a brief response to a peer’s post. Your peer’s post should be acknowledged by stating their main points, expressing your agreement or disagreement and summarizing them. You should also include additional information that relates to the topic or expands upon your peer’s ideas. You should conclude your posting with an open question to encourage further discussion. This will also invite your peer’s thoughts and ideas.
When citing and referencing articles in APA format, you should include the author’s last name and first initial, the publication date, the title of the article, the title of the journal or periodical, the volume number, and the page numbers. You can use the following example:
Smith, J. (2021). Ethics in Healthcare. Journal of Medical Ethics. 45(2). 32-46.
An example of an open-ended follow-up question might be: “How do you think these ethical dilemmas could be addressed in a more effective way?”
