Nrs-433v module 5 dq 1
It is important to have a research-based approach in nursing. This helps nurses make informed decisions and provide high quality care based on facts, rather than their intuition. This has been done in my office by encouraging nurses who are interested to improve their research abilities to read medical journals or attend seminars that relate to their specialization. They can be informed on current developments and trends in healthcare, as well as access resources which will help to inform their practice.
In addition, we have recently installed an electronic system for patient records that gives staff easy access to data like lab tests or vitals signs. We can make better decisions about diagnosing and treating patients because we are able to compare past information with current results. In addition, our work flow is based upon a continual improvement strategy that forces us to review protocols regularly and make changes if new information becomes available.
I am taking several measures to improve the quality of patient care at my work place. This will allow nurses to make more autonomous decisions and ultimately result in better outcomes for patients. We can ensure that we are providing the best care to our patients by having reliable data sources.
